The F.D.N.Y. Viking Association is a fraternal organization of the New York City Fire Department.
Our membership is composed of active and retired firefighters and friends who are interested in Scandinavian heritage and
culture.
We meet periodically at the Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, 140 Meisner Avenue, Staten Island, NY. The meetings
start at 7 p.m., with dinner, usually $5, with organizational business being conducted at 8 p.m. Our meetings are informal
in nature.
Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded to children of our members in the name of Captain John J. Drennan and Lieutenant Cecil
J. Kent.
Two additional College Scholorarships of $1,000 are awarded by the Olsen/Barry Scholarship Fund in honor of Eric Olsen and
Arthur Barry Two Viking members Killed at the WTC on 9/11/2001.
Bi-annually, we sponsor the Captain John J. Drennan Medal of Valor to a member of the New York City Fire Department.
Annually, we have a boat outing, a golf outing, a Dinner/Dance and participate in the Norwegian Day Parade. we are involved
with functions at the Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
